Welcome to the Artisian Spice Blog
Artisian Spice has landed!!
Hey All,
Well this is new for me, this is my first blog, I have been inspired to share updates and info about whats happening down in my little shop in Greville St. Artisian Spice is my first business and I've started from scratch. I spent two years working for a direct importer and that is how I became involved with selling fashion and handcrafts from India. My former boss wasn't able to employ me full time, so I spent 3-4 months of the year working for him while he was in India buying goods and then I would be unemployed so I would spend my days helping out in the shop, unpacking and sorting new stock when the goods arrived. Eventually my yearning for my own shop started to win out and I saw an opportunity arrive that I couldn't pass up, I applied through the Australian Government to do the NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme) which involved an 8 week course writing a business plan and then, subject to approval they would provide a basic wage for the first 12 months of business. I completed the course in June and Artisian Spice opened on August 12th 2010.
So far...
Well the reception has been fantastic, I have had so much positive feedback it's been amazing, people just love the shop, I had one customer tell me she just loves to pop in because she loves the vibe, People have all sorts of lovely comments to make, they love the stuff they want to buy everything!!! All sorts of people come through here and the tourists just love it, particularly the girls from the UK!! they always have to buy something... I've made some really nice friends who pop in all the time, usually when I change the window!! but I already have lot's of regular customers some of which I'm just starting to recognise. Ive even had people tell me they came past while I was closed and really wanted to check it out, so they came back, which is so AWESOME!! like really who doesn't want hear that kind of feedback!! It feels great to know that people appreciate what I'm doing!!
Anyway so there is a little bit of background info!!
